History of our certification
On March 10, 2009, PRODOC Translations GmbH was first audited in accordance with EN 15038 by Austrian Standards plus Certification, the certification authority of the Austrian Standards Institute.
The audit was based on the certification procedure of the Language Industry Certification System (LICS) and was performed at the company’s head office in Weinbach by lead auditor Dr. Peter Jonas.
After the internal preparation, which was essentially limited to writing process documentation acc. to our internal Quality Management rules, the audit ran smoothly – due in no small part to support from Klaus Kurre – that the certificate, valid for 6 years, was issued and sent out with no conditions on March 15, 2009.
Certification renewals, required every two years, were passed successfully on May 23, 2011, and April 17, 2013, at our Munich site.
In July 2015, re-certification in accordance with ISO 17100 took place which, in addition to the previous quality standards, verified the qualifications of the freelancers and documented their continuous professional development. Of course, continuous training of our internal employees also takes place.
Registration or certification?
How can you check to see if a translation agency works in accordance with ISO17100?
Registration with DIN CERTCO
The translation service provider can register with DIN CERTCO.
However, this is really just a self-declaration, meaning information provided by the service provider, as is the case with CE declarations of conformity.
Certification by an independent authority
Ultimately, the customer can only be assured that the service provider works in compliance with standards if the service provider has received certification by an independent inspection authority.
