Technical translation English-Korean
Still a structurally weak country at the beginning of the 1960s, Korea has now become an economic giant.
It has proven to be astonishingly crisis-proof and is now one of the leading nations in the technological field.
However, there are only a few specialised Korean translators who can translate into Korean not only from English but also directly from German. Some of these rare specialists, who also meet the requirements of ISO 17100, translate for PRODOC.

Solutions for efficient Korean translations
The Korean language as a contact to the technology giant
When we talk about Korea, we are of course referring to South Korea, which has become a major player in global trade since it began its transformation into an export-oriented powerhouse.
Koreans want to trade with other countries. This is why they particularly value other, technologically highly developed nations. In other words, Germany too. Consequently, the translation from German into Korean builds a bridge between the two cultures and languages.
For us at PRODOC, Korean is a small but highly specialized niche with a comparatively large number of clients in relation to the translation volume. On the one hand, we do a very diverse range of work for different areas of technology. On the other hand, this means that we are always up to date, and not just linguistically.
What translators do for English and Korean
Like China and Japan, Korea is one of the Asian countries with a long history and a proud, very complex culture. This culture is also expressed in language, which captures the complex social relationships with several different levels and forms of politeness. The respective form of politeness depends above all on the age of the speaker in relation to the addressee. Consequently, it also depends on social status or rank in a company.
Mastering characters with confidence
Firstly, the language is written in Sino-Korean characters. Secondly, in an alphabetic script that comprises a total of 19 consonants and 21 vowels. Finally, these consonants and vowels are combined to form a complete syllable in a block unit. Characters are mainly used in scientific texts and for spelling names. They are also still used in some newspapers. However, the majority of everyday Korean is written in the alphabet.
Building trust through good English-Korean translations
By the way: A precise technical translation for English and Korean is also advantageous for you in another way: The language makes you familiar to your business partner or customer. This is an important aspect in Korea, as Koreans only treat people they know as important and therefore with the typical politeness. Translations are therefore an essential part of the basis for successful business relationships.
English-Korean technical translations
A Korean with whom you already have a business relationship would never tell you if a translation is inadequate or even incomprehensible. Courtesy forbids this. If you are looking for new partners, they may never consider you as an unprofessional stranger if your translations are incorrect. That’s why a reliable translator for English and Korean is particularly valuable to you.
With English and Korean translations from PRODOC, you not only rely on native-speaker translators with excellent translation training. Our translators also have a technological background that enables them to understand highly complex technological contexts in detail and translate them correctly.
Document types for English-Korean translation

We also translate digital projects for you, such as:
Modern Korean is written from left to right in horizontal lines, just like scripts in Western cultures. Only traditional texts still use top-to-bottom and right-to-left spelling. This means that the layout of print products and digital interfaces does not have to be completely changed if you have them translated from English into Korean.
There is a space between the words, but politeness attributes are appended directly. This should always be kept in mind when reorganizing and can be a challenge, especially if space is limited.
